Olivia loves the zoo so I teamed up with my friend and designer Erica Praschan (of Erica Praschan Interior Design) to create a beautiful party for her second birthday.
We were inspired by an authentic African safari and decided to create a look that was both adventurous and elegant.
Erica and I agreed that we wanted to capture Olivia's adventurous personality.......while keeping the party style simple and elegant.
We used some of the printables from The TomKat Studio's safari collection for Pottery Barn Kids; Leather animals and elephant bank: Pottery Barn Kids;
Cupcakes and cake: Star Cakes, Springfield, MO, http://starcakescoc.com/;
Safari Hats: www.amazon.com; Sugar animals: Sweet Estelle's Baking Supply, http://www.artfire.com/ext/shop/studio/sweetestelle; Mosquito Netting (aka cream tulle): FM Fabrics, Springfield, MO; Grass table runner: The Market, Springfield, MO
One of my favorite details were the sugar animal cupcake toppers Erica found online. They were the perfect look and really helped set the tone for the party. I picked up mosquito netting (a.k.a cream tulle) from a fabric store which was an inexpensive way to add height and texture to the tables. The little guests really LOVED wearing their hats into the zoo….while munching on organic animal crackers.
