Look, Don’t Touch: A Free Printable Car Seat Tag

It’s been fun reliving those early baby days with all the new babies my friends and family have recently brought into the world. But there are some things you forget about, like how much everyone wants to touch the baby. Most of the time that’s okay if it is someone you know, but for strangers during flu season? Your infant is probably safest being a hands-off kind of kid for the time being. That’s where a “Don’t Touch the Baby!” tag for infant car seats and strollers comes in handy.

My friend’s baby girl is the third child and only a few weeks old. Since there are already two ahead of her, she gets to go everywhere and can’t spend the first six weeks of her life strictly at home. Mom was getting concerned about all the strangers that were reaching in and touching her, but she wanted to find a polite way to get people to stop putting their (dirty) hands on an infant that can’t have her vaccines yet. She was in love with this tag when I brought it to her on my visit.

Assembling these car seat tags is easy. Download the printable car seat tag, and then print and cut it out. There’s a file included for both a purple/aqua and an aqua/orange color scheme. Fold the tag in half so there’s a sign on both sides, then punch a hole in the top of the tag.

Laminating is the best idea for the tag, but if you don’t have access to a laminator, you can cover the entire tag in clear packing tape to give it a little more durability. Don’t forget to re-punch the hole after you’ve laminated or taped up the tag. String a ribbon through the hole, and add any extra embellishments you like.
