Description
Ella loves Elmo and I wanted her to enjoy her birthday party more this year thank she did her first birthday, so I decided to run with the little red monster theme. We had an Elmo performer (her dad), Elmo cakes pops and even a red carpet for guests to have their photo taken on; each family got a professional photo as the party favor. I also set up a craft table with some tactile and sensory activities for the really young kids (we had kids from 6-mos-6-years attending).
Design Inspiration
Elmo was the inspiration, but I also wanted it to be a party that went beyond Sesame Street plates and cups. Ella had eye surgery in December 2011 and her eye no longer crossed so I also wanted some professional photos of the family now that her eye was better. That's when I decided to go with the "monster red carpet" idea.
Decorating Style
I love colorful, modern and classy.

Advice
Look on Pinterest for ideas and buy a bouncy house -- we use ours for any party (including SuperBowl) where people bring their kids. I also bought a dozen children's aprons for the craft table - they were pretty inexpensive (came in a pack) from Amazon, and this way my craft table wasn't responsible for any ruined clothing.

Ella has such beautiful, amazingly blue eyes! And I think the Elmo theme is just perfect for a two-year-old. My kid was also crazy over Elmo when she was that age.

Love the step and repeat! And those fruit filled cones are a great idea. Thanks so much for sharing.
