Mila wanted a cheery and colorful theme for her birthday and she picked Rainbow. We brought in a fairy who did face painting, balloon twisting and magic show for entertainment.

Mila had never wanted to sleep in her crib and has been sleeping on a regular bed ever since. She’s 18 months now and we just recently moved. I fell in love with the duver cover bought during my overseas trip and I developed the color palettes with that bedding in mind. The room truly represents her. Her love of outdoors, books and most recently, dressing up.

We celebrated Mila’s 1st Birthday at a local Gymboree Play and Music. She loves butterflies and we did a butterfly theme for her party. I did most of the shopping through Etsy, from her costume, decorations to cookies. We selected fuschia, orange and lime green as the theme colors, very cheerful. We hang the fuschia with white polka dots fabric as a backdrop for the dessert table. We also hang a butterfly chandelier from PB Kids as the focal point. Everyone loves the chandelier.

We are expecting our first baby girl in February. When we found out we are expecting, we did not know which room to “house” the baby. Whether converting the office to nursery, or keeping the office and retrofitting the guest room into nursery/guest room. We decided on converting the office. We want her to have a room of her own where she can grow into.
