Description
This is an aqua and coral nursery designed for my third daughter Brenna, who is due late July 2015.
Design Inspiration
My design inspiration on this nursery was the book 'Pat the Bunny'. This is my third daughter. I was getting exhausted by the usual pinks and purples for girls. I decided that I wanted to incorporate 2 tranquil colors and found coral and aqua to be the perfect match.
Decorating Style
My decorating style combines the use of antique and new items. I try to up cycle as much as possible in my home. I tend to stick to a traditional decor with hints of coastal, eclectic, and country styles.
Project Details
The crib and changing table are Pottery Barn Kids, Catalina Collection. The dresser is over 30 years old and was from my own nursery as a child. We had it refinished and painted with Valspar Chef's White and the hardware was purchased at Hobby Lobby. The walls were painted with Valspar Aqua Mist.
Favorite Items
Hands down, my favorite item is the refinished dresser. It has a perfect hint of femininity and innocence.
Advice
Any shade of aqua or coral will combine well. Grey and antique white compliments with small accents also. Think playful serenity.
