Description
I wanted the room to be peaceful and warm, yet with sections of vibrant colors to create an aestically pleasing vision for my baby. I got many ideas from Project Nursery and Pinterest.
We made one of the wall stand out with colors in a chevron design. The shelves, the Disney pictures and the Penelope Bird Mobile were all DYI projects that added a personal touch to the room.
Design Inspiration
I love Penelope Birds! This was my first design inspiration. I had the wall decal as well as the Penelope Bird Mobile as part of this nursery decor.
I got a greeting card with a wonderful quote from Walt Disney “The Most Important thing is family,” so I complemented this with another DIY project by using pastel crayons on canvas. I colored Disney cartoons from my favorite Disney Movies (Lion King, Little Mermaid and Snow White) and I had them professionally framed!
Decorating Style
Elegant yet simple!
Décor: I chose traditional furniture with few accessories. The room was fairly spacious and I still wanted an airy feeling so I chose some items to add my own personal touch to this nursery.

Favorite Items
It's got to be the Penelope Bird Mobile. This was a project from the heart and I made it while I was pregnant I feel even better that my baby girl loves it!
I also love the Chevron wall border my husband did!

Well, elegant isn't exactly a word I would use to describe this nursery, but it's still lovely. I like the DIY touches.
