Description
Baby Kellogg's gender is a surprise and I love woodland animals so I had to put them in there. The walls were already a blue gray color so I thought yellow would brighten up the room and feminize it a little.
Design Inspiration
Pinterest inspired me. Woodland owls and gray chevron fabric.
Decorating Style
Modern and comfortable .
Project Details
Crib skirt is from etsy-Ash/White Zig Zag Slub by Premier Prints and the matching comforter was made by my mom.
Curtains were made by my mother
Dresser was an estate auction find refinished and painted in corn cob yellow before we found out we were expecting. The yellow inspired the rest of the colors.
Day bed bedding from target and pillows were hand made with fabric by premier prints. Solid yellow pillows are Ralph Lauren from Marshalls.
Art work was printed from the internet and framed.
Closet organizer is a kit from Menards and baskets are Large Yellow Gingham from Container Store.
The hope chest in the closet is from my childhood and recovered in gray/citron fabric from Joann.
I made the Curious George canvas wall art (modpodging book pages to a canvas) and my friend's mom made me the mobile as a gift.
Favorite Items
Dresser. I spent a lot of time repairing it and sanding it and then painting it and I spent more on the owl themed knobs ($60 on Amazon) than I did on the rest of it. The drawers are lined with scrapbook paper applied with mod podge.
The mobile is the most awesome handmade gift too!
Advice
You can save a lot of money ordering your fabric online and making pieces yourself. I personally like fabric.com and I ordered a lot of swatches before I finally chose my fabrics.

How did you make the Curious George canvas wall art? Did you print that?

Nice yellow dresser. So when you said you spent more on those cute theme-appropriate knobs, did you mean you spent more time painting them yourself or you spent more money on them? Because they're really adorable!
