Description
We didn't want the typical pink nursery for our baby girl so we painted the walls a soft seafoam green and used lavender and white as the main colors. We opted for a more sophisticated, contemporary room that would transition with her as she grows.
Design Inspiration
The bedding was the main inspiration. The soft lilac and white damask pattern helped us with the overall styling
Decorating Style
I tend to lean towards contemporary styling
Project Details
All the furniture is from jcp.com, with the exception of the rocker recliner which was a steal from Grand Home Furnishings outlet. The wall decal is from ETSY,com and the shelves we had and repurposed. The maternity photos were done by my dear friend at www.sweetpeastudiosva.com and make for a special touch to the nursery.
Favorite Items
My absolute favorite part of the room is the capiz chandelier from pbteen.com. I also love the personal handmade touches which include the monogram pillow made by my mom (check her out at www.iDoMonogram.com) the memory board above the changing table made by me, and the fabric covered lampshade I created for the table on the dresser, all using fabric from a curtain from Target that matches the bedding.
Advice
Work on the layout of the room before buying anything. Our nursery is fairly small (12 x12) so we needed to buy furniture that would fit the scale of the room.

I'm in love with the crib! Where did you get that from?!

Hi Mom2B1210: Thanks for the reply. Going with a gender neutral color could be a pain in my opinion because your decors could go both ways! It's December now, how are you and how are you holding the excitement in???

I must agree with the colors you've used here. It's not common to have green, lavender and white for a baby girl's room, but it works! I think you're lucky that you've painted without knowing the gender yet, and got this room :) I love it!

Thank you Ken! I'm pretty happy with the wall color as well... we actually painted before we knew what we were having so I love that it's a gender nuetral color.
