Description
I love planning parties, so I couldn't wait to throw one for my little man turning one. My son loves animals, so I decided to arrange a visit from Henry the donkey. The kids were so excited to meet him, and have a chance to sit on his back for a photo op.
Design Inspiration
I love traditional papel picado which gave me my inspiration, not to mention that everyone loves a fiesta!
Project Details
I created paper flowers using thick handmade paper, and purchased handmade papel picados and a miniature pinata from Casa Bonampak (http://www.mexevents.com) in San Francisco. I also created a happy birthday banner, and a miniature one for the cake using Rosewood font.

I had to go to YouTube and watch a tissue paper banner or papel picado how-to video! Can't wait to try it myself!

So festive and colorful! And I learned something new today: that these decorative paper craft are known as papel picados! Wish I could learn how to make these!
