Heart Crusher Valentine’s Party

Description

Boy themed Valentine's Party.

Design Inspiration

“I am a mom of 2 boys and run into the same issue every Valentine’s Day.  Trying to find cute, fun, boy themed Valentine’s that will meet my son’s approval!  Monster trucks are a hot commodity in our house and each have a name.  I decided to design a printable monster truck Valentine’s Collection this year and name it HEART CRUSHER.

Decorating Style

My oldest is a boy’s boy and wants nothing to do with the color pink or anything that almost even resembles a heart.  I kept this in mind while designing this collection.  Aqua and red paired with fun modern patterns accented with a monster truck creates a fun take on your ordinary Valentine’s.

Project Details

I was on a budget so I purchased all candy and sweets at the grocery store or made them myself.   The dessert table features mini monster trucks holding chocolate rocks.  A tire clock from my son’s room that I turned onto its side is topped with wax lips.  Mini white cups filled with cherry jello are accented with 2″ party circles.  Sucker sticks hold candy cherry slices and are placed inside the jello cups.  Bottles of strawberry soda are wrapped in water bottle wraps and set upon DIY cake plates.  I made them from clear vases filled with mini monster trucks and set a black plate on top.  Cherry pastry bites sit on top of strawberry whoppers and cinnamon cupcakes are placed upon cinnamon candy.  Rice Krispie pops showcase a fondant broken heart and are wrapped in cello, tied with a ribbon and a party circle.  I was able to put my left over mini candy canes to use by making candy cane chocolate suckers.

I designed all of the printables:http://www.etsy.com/listing/89341447/as-seen-on-hwtmprintable-heart-crusher  and styled the table with items from around my house.

Favorite Items

Would have to be the heart candy cane suckers in the back of the Monster Trucks!

Advice

Always look around your house for items to decorate with before buying stuff!  If you're on a budget pick a theme that you have decor items for already.  I choose a Monster Truck theme because my house is filled with monster trucks so I had instant decor!
