Description
I created this whole room through mostly DIY projects with the inspiration of bright colors and all things Lilly Pulitzer.
Design Inspiration
Lilly Pulitzer is a huge trend and I couldn't wait to design a room with such a beachy/ preppy design for my baby girl to love!! When I was a little girl I remember dreaming about having a room like the magazines. Unfortunately I never got that, but when I had my daughter I was able to bring that dream to life for her and myself. It is such a great feeling to give her an awesome space for herself to grow. Being West Palm Beach born and raised, I couldn't help but to follow the beachy and bright inspiration of Lilly! I created the room in super savvy ways, so although it's not your average designer products, it's fun to create yourself through DIY projects.
Decorating Style
Preppy and nautical
Project Details
I sewed her crib sheet and changing pad cover using the most preppy/beachy fabric I could find. Love Bliss by Amy Butler is a must have! The curtains were a no sew project inspired by pinterest. Her vanity and blue dresser were hand painted, along with the lampshade, and believe it or not the crib skirt was painted!! I found an easy way to make fabric paint and created a cheap and awesome alternative!
Paint on Walls- Sherwin Williams Dishy Coral (stripes were done by my dad who deserves so much credit for his hard work always)
Color Scheme- Light blue, coral, green
Starfish Garland- Made out of twine and starfish bought on ebay!
Dresser- Amazon
Crib- Wayfair
Crib Skirt- White ruffled skirt from target that I painted with fabric paint I made!
Lamp- Thrift store painted coral with added pom pom trim
Letters- Walmart wooden letters with mod podged Lilly Pulitzer patterned paper to it
Pillows for Chair- HomeGoods
Vanity Nobs- HomeGoods
Materials mostly from Walmart and Hobby Lobby
Favorite Items
My favorite item is her vanity. It is just so chic and I always wanted one as a little girl.
