Description
This room was soo much fun to put together! It's a pretty small space which was previously our guest room that we painted with horizontal stripes. I definitely loved how the stripes turned out so I wanted to keep it and just add the baby elements. I wanted bright and fun colors for my baby boy's room so I decided to go with blues, green, grey and splashes of orange (a color the hubby actually likes)
Design Inspiration
So many design inspirations went into this nursery. It all started with a trip to my fave Target and found a blue and torquoise tablecloth in their seasonal kitchen department. I loved the circle design and thought it would make as great curtains (an idea from Pinterest). I then found fabric from the local craft store which had elephants and giraffes and had the matching blue color in the curtains.. and bam!!.. that started the design!! I definitely must give credit to Project Nursery, Pinterest, and Etsy for ALL of the ideas of my DIY projects.

Advice
Try something new! My house is decorated very neutral and don't really have bright colors so I wanted to try something different. Also try making things yourself. I did not know how to sew before this project.. I remember taking a sewing class back in 8th grade and barely remember anything. Bedding is expensive so decided to give it a try. I started with simple pillow covers and then tried a simple crib skirt... then it led to the fitted sheets and changing pad cover. I must say.. not to shabby for a newbie.

what color did you use for the stripes? I love them!

The nice thing about this nursery is that when you look at it as a whole and as a bigger picture, it's simple and unassuming. But when you look at the details -- like the accent wall, the mobile, the animal patterns and prints -- closely, you'd see how lovely they are.
