Vintage Farmhouse Nursery

Description

This is the nursery for our 4th (and final) boy! The previous owner had turned the entire room into a closet so, rather than trying to patch up all the holes and retexture the room after we removed all of the rods and shelves, we decided to give the focal wall a planked treatment as well as the bench seat area which was originally the closet. We purchased a few items, but many were repurposed from other rooms.

Design Inspiration

I wanted something different than what I had done for the other boys, something special. And yet, with 3 boys 4 and under and being pregnant, I was exhausted. I needed something simple that could easily be transformed as he grows with little effort. I love the industrial chic look and the farmhouse feel is taking over our DIY renovations throughout the house.

Favorite Items

The glider has to be my favorite item if only because I didn't splurge on one previously. I already have amazing memories rocking my little guy in this chair and think it is versatile enough to be in one of the boys' rooms as they grow.

Advice

At first it was hard for me to mix navy blue and black, and stripes with stars, but it was this mismatched look that I was hoping to achieve. I think it gives it a warm vintage feel somehow as if it just happened by accident.
